Took delivery of my 2022 Ford XLT HYBRID LUX PACKAGE MAVERICK today 10/1/22, did the paper work yesterday 09/30/22 and paid for it, the truck came in (09/29/22) just before Ian hit our city in FL so glad it was sheltered at the dealership. The dealership experience was to be expected, I'd bought a car from them 14 years ago, skipped all of their upgrades except for their sealant package which covers the paint for 84 months. They said that the WiFi hotspot was not refunded but when it becomes available they will install it for free. I'm wondering if I get one from T-Mobile if they would install that, Im not fond of ATT. I drove it around a little, hard when there's debris on the roads and few traffic signals working but the computer said I was getting 43.6 mpg, I'm thinking that perhaps NTSHA is wrong or I've been driving hybrids for the last 12 years and know how to ring out the mpg's, no real highway speeds today but hope to do some soon.
I saw a YouTube video showing some of the ways Ford saved money, one was a steel muffler, so I'm planning to spray it with 1200 degree high temperature paint because on the video the muffler had started to rust, may be a bitch getting to the top of the muffler but who knows. The Maverick doesn't have the storage space that the Prius V has, but it can tow, where the Prius V doesn't have a tow rating. The door pockets are challenging but I was "Born to Modify", the Fits package is disappointing but it was free, I had removed the rear seats from every vehicle I've owned for 50 years to gain a more flexible storage storage configuration, this one I'm ruminating on now, have paid for the camper shell for the bed, Wifey wants to keep the rear seats but I'm thinking they'll look great in the attic.

I love reading all things Maverick! However, my brain locked up when I read day before Hurricane Ian hit your city.
You have GOT TO BE the most rabid Maverick fan I've encountered yet.
I'll go and read all your review in a bit, but I just was so awestruck that your focus was on your new Maverick arrival, your excitement--after waiting 14 months - and no talk time about hurricane disaster. Kudos to you!! And congratulations! Both on getting your Maverick -and- surviving the storm!(y)

We are on the East coast near Daytona Beach and had the Tropical Storm force winds, still on Solar panels and generator but spent big bucks taking trees down last spring.

I've had the Hybrid 2 days, it's the 3rd hybrid I've owned, my initial impression is "THIS TRUCK ROCKS" mileage has been: mixed back road highway and city 43.6 mpg and in city 45 and under 50 mpg.
I used most of the FITS plastic dividers to raise the sills on the door pockets (cut the tabs off) and slid the color coordinated panel in upsidedown to really hold water bottles, the short ones fit into the recess and are about perfect, the deeper ones work well in the back doors.
