Keep receipts for oil n filter
And he'll no, if I can help it the dealer won't be touching my truck. It came 100% unblemished from the factory and I'd like to keep it that way. I'm on the fence about letting them tear up the door trim for the air bag recall.

I looked for the log. Where is it?
On FordPass menu at bottom go to "Service" and to record oil changes etc choose "service history" and enter info. I also have a three ring binder in my garage and keep detailed hand written info on everything I do to my vehicles including part numbers etc and receipts for warranty purposes in the binder pockets.

Cool. Thanks folks.
I would suggest if you do your own oil and filter changes use a filter rated as corresponding with or better than motorcraft. I use wix. But, I recommend using motorcraft oil because I found it a pure hassle to find one that matches in another brand in order to save a "but you used..." problem. It seems there is a constant increase in the making of oil being able to lubricate longer that it's best to se the auto manufacturer's declaration in order to not be in hot water as a 'shade tree' mechanic.

I've never ever taken vehicles back to the dealer for oil changes. Always have done them myself. However, I declared that this last year (my 80th) is my last year of doing oil changes that require going underneath to remove the oil filter.

Have any of you made a hole in that underneath pan, maybe lined it with a piece of tygon tubing to keep from cutting arms, where the oil filter is? The Santa Cruz has little removable panels for both the oil filter and the oil drain plug. Mazda has a single panel that allows access to both. I always extract the oil and do not need access to the oil drain plug.

I know where you are coming from. I hit 75 this year and while I can still crawl under our Mav, I can see an end to that time in the near future. IRT a hole, I have toyed with getting some of the clips and bolts holding the big panel on and fabricating a hole and cover at the filter that I can then remove to change it.
