I've wanted a truck forever, my wife and I were looking at finding a used Tacoma before this was revealed. The cost was too prohibitive to get a truck for a freshly married, new mortgage, 22 year old.

I'm definitely a truck guy, but tons of appeal to me on the maverick.

Not a truck guy, but I ordered my Maverick XLT yesterday at the dealer. I normally drive a hatchback.

Previously, I just had a hard time justifying

• Price
• Gas mileage
• Size (I like being able to easily park places)
• Cheaper for me to just rent one from U-Haul or Home Depot for an afternoon a couple times a year

I’m a truck guy. My first two rides were trucks and I loved them. I’ve done the car and suv thing but I’ve wanted to get back in truck for awhile. I’m not even a Ford guy but the Maverick checks off most the boxes and can haul a few too.

Same here, everything else is too much truck. The Maverick is just enough for the average person

I'll hopefully be replacing my 93 f250. I've had a truck for the last 6 years and will never be without one again. I used the truck the last 3 years mainly for going out and getting firewood. We are switching to pellets this year and with the tow capacity of the maverick it'll fit our needs. Been looking at used f150s but even then that's more truck than we'll need.

IYeah I'm getting about 9-10 mpg currently and driving it as a daily right now as well, actually just spent $109 to fill it up this morning. I doubt I'll get anything like that, at least not at first. If I need anything to much longer than the bed ill take the trailer.

• 37% are replacing a car. YES
• 25% are replacing a SUV. NO
• 17% are replacing a pickup truck. NO
• 21% are not replacing a vehicle. NO

Some more interesting things to point out:

• 33% of respondents say they have NEVER owned a truck before. YES (84 Ranger)
• 18% of respondents are trading in a Ford (car, truck or SUV) NO (VW Alltrack)

Of the 119 members who responded to the "Vehicle that will be replaced?" question:

• 62% are switching to a Maverick from a non-truck (car or SUV).
• 37% are replacing a car.
• 25% are replacing a SUV.
• 17% are replacing a pickup truck.
• 21% are not replacing a vehicle.

When it's over 30mpg and under 30k, I'm a truck guy. Here's me with my 2010 minivan, Curt hitch, and mobility scooter rack hauling 6 Emerald Green Arborvitae from Lowes earlier this year:

Minivans are highly underrated, but sadly my SO is prejudiced against them and thinks they have an image problem. Otherwise, the Sienna hybrid apparently does 36 combined, pretty close to what the Maverick will likely get. Not cheap though with say an XSE starting at $42K.

I thought about it but I bet you can find it aftermarket or add it as part of the negotiations when picking it up

As buyers we have no leverage right now. The dealers are in control.
