Does anyone know if a tow hitch can be added aftermarket on a Hybrid? I assumed it would be just as easy a any other truck but i have been told there are complicated chip/Computer control issues and it needs the wiring harness to be the factory installed one .
Any feedback would be welcome. Thanks

Another customer and I were chatting at the Ford Parts dept. He was picking up more accessories he is adding to the XLT he ordered with no extras. He mentioned just adding the Hitch and wiring from Ford and mentioned the cost from ford I told him it was only 100 when ordered with the Maverick. He was unaware and extremely unhappy!

Thanks for your replies, I did have a tow hitch on my order but was told to remove it by the dealer as it was a big constraint unless it was ordered as part of the $2k lux package. So my options were basically forget the truck ( its a hybrid so still may never be built) pay for a $2k package I dont want , or go aftermarket. So here I am.
I appreciate the research Aufgeblassen,I think that's the one I found and added the wiring kit and 4-pin mounting bracket.

The standard 2k became a constraint . I still haven't got my truck, presumably because its a hybrid .but as of Today that hitch is a constraint unless its part of a lux package. This is from ford video guy and the dealer.
But..... mine is a bare bones XL with the ONLY option being the trailer hitch, and mine was one of the very 1st '23 Mavericks produced at S/N 2,017, build complete 12/1/22! :D

BOTH the Ford guy and the dealer are slugnutty!

Any advice on the original question? What aftermarket hitch would you advise for a Hybrid?
I did a lot of research and the E-trailer.com was the best one i found.as it uses matching plugs-ins for the rear lights and only requires a crimp and clamp for the fuse connection to battery. .Its a 4k rated hitch but only a 4 pin as it does not connect to the non existent trailer brake controller. I will nevr tow that much so brake likes and signals is all i need.
