I would have thought that they were about $50 bucks each .

Don't know and have not looked at Ford's attempt to get in on the fender flare option but these appear to not be attached to the wheel opening, but maybe push fitted?

They attach with adhesive and fasteners.

If I kept the truck, I would gladly pay the $700 again for them. They look much, much better than stock.

Have to say not me since I am in an area where they salt in winter and all these do is offer another place for rust to start. That is what took place on the factory flares on my 87 Jeep comanche. Even though every time I could I did an under body wash at a car wash and used the hose inside the fender wells, no way to stop it from happening. That is where the rust was uncontrollable.
