Are backseat headrests removable?

does anyone know if the headrest on the backseat bench will be removable? i’ve heard yay & nay….I’m trying to find out for certain. since I do not have need to ever carry passengers in the backseat, I will be wanting to remove them as soon as I pick up my new Maverick. now I don’t really see the need to order the copilot 360 package because if headrest are removable I will have much better view & no need for BLIS. I actually enjoy the cross traffic alert on my present car and will miss that but I think I can live without it as long as I can achieve a very good view within the Blindspot area on either side.

just remembered Co Pilot 360 is REQUIRED to order the slider which I really want. Ford designed these packages this way knowing it would force so many of us that want the slider to have to pay $540 for copilot and on top of that another $155 for that small slider! The 2 previous Toyota mini trucks I had years ago had rear sliders and I used them frequently ….especially for extra long items like crown molding, etc. Also, nice for the fur kids to be able to enjoy fresh air.
So…guess I will have to point up the extra $695. 😡

Copilot is only required for slider on xl trim.

Unless they are integrated into the design, I am sure they can.

Fun fact story 1: Has anyone seen "The Sixth Sense"? remember the scene where HJO says "I see dead people" when they are in the Volvo? If you notice the head restraints (note: head restraints not head rests) are missing. At the time I was working at a Volvo dealer and one of my customers was a grip on the movie. He called me at the dealership and asked me they could be removed and if so how. I told him how by pressing tabs under the back of the seat upright. So, when you see that scene again, think of me.

Funny story 2 : Back in the 80's when we started seeing head restraints in trucks, my step fathers brother just bought a new 80 something truck. He complained how unsafe they were because he couldn't tip his head back to drink his beer when driving.

We will find out when we get them. Probably they are. Does it really change anything knowing if they are removable?

Yes they are. In order to put the seat back all way down you have to remove them.

I would not remove them in case you have extra passengers or decide to have kids or dogs
Also if you don't have CoPilot the door mirrors have blindspot mirrors built in instead.

the Blind spot information system (BLIS) with the orange dots in the mirrors is part of the copilot 360. Are you saying they have a smaller mirror on them without it? I would prefer this, where did you find out?
It's visible in a number of the preview renders as well as the interior 360 view. I'd like having the blindspot mirrors in addition to the BLIS indicator as well, personally. In theory you could get a set of non-BLIS mirror glass to swap in although in my experience you need to detach the indicator LED to stay plugged in or else it will set an error in the info center.
