Looks nice. Does the manual give any idea how many years you can get from the Non-serviceable, long life, lithium metal battery before the mirror is just a mirror?

 

It didn’t but at a little less than $200 I won’t cry if I get at least 4+ years out of it and I’ll definitely try to take it apart and replace the battery myself. Nothing to lose.

I like the frameless look as well.

 

Fifty dollars a year is worth the Homelink to me.

 

If it dies in 4 to 5 years . Why not remove it from the truck , take into the house and open it up as gently as you can. To see if you could actually pop in a new battery or solder in a new battery . It might just take a hour to do and actually be pretty easy to do .
And if it doesn’t work out , you were going to throw it away anyway !

Installed the McGuard tailgate lock. PITA for such a small thing but it still took less than 15 minutes.

 

Ok , The question is .
Is the tailgate hinge in the picture attached with just the ONE star screw that I see ? Because that’s the second key to removing the tailgate .

 

I'm interested in that tailgate lock. Can't wait to do some cool things when my maverick arrives!

 

Toyota Tacoma owners over the years used IDEAL Keyed stainless steel clamps to secure the tailgates from easy theft. Pros will get it no matter what you do to the gate.

Did my first Flexbed DIY.

Made a notched wood rigging wrapped in exterior carpet to keep my daughter’s surfboard from moving side to side, a foam knee pad at the front of the bed with a notch to keep the tip of the board protected and a bungee cord placed behind the fins to keep it from falling out!

Very happy with the results. We’ll see how long it will hold up.

Yep. Just one little hex screw like the OEM mirror.

As a reminder, I have an XL base so there is no electrical at all going to the OEM mirror. Not sure what trim levels offer auto-dimming, etc… which may require a different mirror.

 

I have put on a stubby antenna, front windows tinted, and RTR Tech6 wheels with stock tires. But yesterday, Installed AA-racks and a smittybilt overlander gen2 on my lariat yesterday. Got the rack idea from @Jasonmlit(mavericktruckclub) and the tent from 4WP. Rack set up and tent cost $1500 because I caught the tent and racks on sale. Way cheaper than going the xtrusionoverland or something equivalent. Can't use a bed cover with this set up but the gap is so small not many things should be grabble to steal and all our camping equipment will be stored in containers anyways.

 

I don't see anything relating to a GPS system. On the info screen, what is there?

Changed oil and filter at 2115 miles. Used Mobil 1 0W-20 EP and Motorcraft FL-910s filter. The oil was still a golden brown, no fuel smell, and NO SPARKLES in the old oil.

 

Dropped it off to be repainted... 😕

put my winter tires on - Uniroyal Tiger Paw Ice and Snow - purchased for $700 CAD with tax and free shipping
had to mount the tires to the OEM rims and it all fit in the bed after playing a little tetris

 

Put another first aid kit in the car. Wanted it to be someplace easily accessible so I hung it from the passenger headrest with a carabiner.

 

I covered the gap in the Left Rear Wheel Well that spews dirt and sand into the rear bumper on my XLT Hybrid took about an hour to make out of sheet metal, using the screws for the after market mud flaps and leftover parts from adding the mud flaps. I may use a sheet metal screw if and when the tire is off but is sturdy now.

 

I added a Tampa Bay Lightning sticker to rear window!

 

Has anyone done a lift kit for the Maverick? Several 1 1/2" and 2"..just curious as to the outcome/stance..

 

You can get simple wedges that you rotate between the coil springs for lift. Our original E-350 RV was unlevel, so I add some to the front coils springs. I assume they make a stiffer ride.

 

Had dealer add The Ford branded hood and front Fender's film. When I ordered it I didn't pay attention that's only 3 separate pieces,. I would have thought it would have came with a 4th from the lower front bumper but it does not include.

 

Use ForScan to change powerpoint timeout from 4500 sec. to 300 sec. I didn't like having power to the lighter plug for 1 hr 15 mins after the ignition was off. Now it goes off in 3 mins.

I installed bed lights for my wife. She complained that the one side light was not enough. I tapped into the 12v power with the pigtail that Ford supplied and it took about an hour including loading and unloading the bed.
