Backseat/Underseat Storage

Prosperous wishes to the start of September! I am hoping some of you may be able to shed some light on this feature for me. I have yet to find the answer to this inquiry anywhere online and am pending my own visit to the dealer for a test drive...

Is the underseat storage removable?? While I appreciate the design, the backseat storage bin takes the place for our dog. We typically fold up the rear seat bench and let him sit there. The new Maverick backseat/underseat storage has me now considering to either create a modification of some sort or purchase a Ruffland Backseat crate instead (depending on size specs).

There are a few other options like this as well

The maverick seat back also folds down, that may work better....

I really hope there are some unique 3d printed solutions for that under storage Area. "toolbox", "map case", even a larger bench for dirty shoes/pets and stuff. Even if you had to keep the seat up to use it, would be a nice option other than the bed for storing items like that.
Even with the headrests removed, folded only gets you about 30 degrees from horizontal.

Wondering if the storage deck I built for the PriusV would work in the rear seat area? It was like the Focus wagon I had with the seat bottom removed.

In the hybrid, the 12-volt battery is stored in the underseat bin. That's the raised part of the bin in the picture, on the passenger side. Even if you remove the storage bin, the battery would still be in the way.

I was thinking about building some sort of platform with a cushion, that would sit on top of the bin. When I told my spouse, she laughed and said I would actually be re-building the back seat. :)
I haven't had useable back seats in a personal vehicle for 30 years, the crew cab will be a challenge but if the 12v battery is in the cabin, wondering about a larger battery or a Battle Born Battery system and a solar panel? Planning to boondock as there are a bunch of campgrounds in the National Forests.

I'll be spending lots of time in the Tucson, AZ area and my concern is the longevity of the 12v battery in the Hybrid system. Regular 12v batteries don't last very long in the southwest. 2 to 3 years on average. If these batteries crap out at the worst times, we'd be in a world of hurt. I'm definitely going to upgrade to a lithium battery asap.
The Ruffland backseat rider is intended to fit two crates back to back in the cab of a full size truck - I don't know if the Maverick is wide enough to accommodate two of them, but if not, and especially if you just need one crate, you won't need to get the backseat rider. It doesn't offer anything beyond being shorter in length!

I have lived in Sierra Vista AZ for 3 years and frequent Tucson weekly. I moved here from Omaha Nebraska. My 2011 Prius 12v in the trunk is the original it was built with. Maybe buy a 12V from Toyota

Think the platform hybrid battery is lithium, the 12 volt is lead acid, which runs the lights and other stuff like the Prius 12 volt does.
This floor bins have been one of my big concerns as well. I was hoping for an accessory that would make it flat.
Also, does anyone know if the rear seat is split? I’d like to be able to have my dog and a third person in the back.
Those are my two biggest hang ups with the truck.

the rear seat is one piece, not split.
the floor bins have 8 slots in them for accessories, surely there will be something you can use eventually.

Yeah, I figure something will come out or I can make something. Wish they were split seats, though.
