Curious. Does it sit unused for periods of time?
Why would you need that?

Any time you work on the vehicle's electrical system or components it's good idea to disconnect the battery. A disconnect makes it easier. Also if the vehicle will set for long periods the battery can be easily disconnected. But yes doesn't happen often. Having one doesn't lengthen your lifespan!
