Has anyone else finally changed their order from what they originally planned? I Was going to order a XLT LUX, FX4, TOW PK few other options, only to finally get with the dealership and break down and get a Cactus Grey Lariat TOW Pk, FX4 spray liner and leds bed lights>32,500 approx. I wanted the windshield and cubbies in the bed, silly I know. That was this afternoon. I haven't received any e-mail from Pappa FOMOCO, yet. Just dealership saying they took my refundable deposit and were going to order. Gotta change my AVATAR!
Count me in on changing from my original order. In fact I've changed 3 times since the original. I started with Hybrid XLT-LUX Carbonized Grey for 26.660 on 6/09. After more research I changed to the Lariat - Area 51 for 28,445 on 6/29. Then after seeing a friends Black Raptor with black wheels and black retractable cover on July 4th, I wanted to change. So I changed the color and added the hard cover and Black wheels, wanted the moon-roof but decided against. Made the change, went into the dealer on Monday to sign the build, apologized for keep changing and the comment was that "yeah, upstairs office is getting tired of the changes". I've known this salesman since Jan as my family has already purchased 2 vehicles this year from him/them so I just shrugged it off.
Then on Monday night I realized that this roll up hard cover will not work. I wanted retractable and if I keep it I know I will not be happy. Told the dealer yesterday, he tried to tell me what the difference was on both covers. Wasn't having it. So today I made the change to this: Lariat, Shadow Black, Flg Liners, Ford Co-Pilot, Hitch, 400W, Spray-in bedliner, Touch link Bed light, 18" Black Wheels and got the Moon Roof, 30,325. I'm happy with this build.
BTW: Salesman asked me "Are you sure this time". My response is for another thread.
To this I say: get what you want. Make the changes necessary. Not everyday you build a truck from scratch.
If the dealer gives pushback, politely let them know you have options, as this was communicated today. Believe me, you'll see the attitude change pretty quick.
