Changing priority?

As the tittle suggest as I've decided to get my maverick I want to know how the priority change works as I went to my local dealer but I was told it wouldn't let them save it to anything lower than 19 before submitting the order. It's is an XL hybrid if that has to do anything with it but I've seen others with XL posting they got 13+ also can the priority change once the order is already in or only before?
Thanks

I'm sure it can depending on many factors such as parts availability, time order was placed, were you are located, ect.
Anyway, this is the first time I've read anyone mention a priority code got any links so I can read more about it?
It also depends on the dealers allocation. My local dealer is only allocated 5 out of the initial orders. They asked for more but that is all Ford would commit to on this initial customer order run. Doesn’t mean others won’t be scheduled but the first 5 with code 10 for this dealer are the ones they are expecting to be picked up for scheduling. If you have a priority 10 but they don't have the parts for your build it’s possible one with a lower priority would get built first. So it’s about allocation for the dealer and part availability. This according to my local dealer GM. Honestly I am not sure they really know. They says they are going by the orders they have done over the years.
10 is the lowest for Retail (special) orders. Range is 10-19 for Retails orders. Dealers can change it anytime.
My order was a priority 10, and the manager told he he’ll try to schedule as many other orders as he can at that level.
Customer priority codes are 10 thru 19 with 19 being the default setting in the Ford computer system. My XL ordered on 6/14 was originally priority 19. I texted my salesman last week asking to be assigned a lower number (higher priority) and they changed my priority to 10. They now have 9 Mavericks on order but I'm the only one with priority code 10 since my order was their first one.
My dealer is, I believe, the largest volume Ford dealer in the state. They told me they put it as a one. So, I am a bit confused. That is normally an internal Ford code that is a special circumstance. So I don't know if the guy I talked to was confused or I really got a great priority code because of the allocation this Ford dealer probably gets based on sales volume.

This should help you. I was the first order at my dealership also, and am crossing my fingers to get a scheduling email by August. First ones start this week!
