Cost me about 30 bucks but I did it myself. Don't want the car wash kids at the dealer fooling with something as important as an oil change and risking lug nuts or oil plug not tightened

If you use Motorcraft oil, it is over $60 alone, then there is the filter cost. So..... how did you do it for $30???
$30 is about my cost too.
Mobil1 is about $25 for a 5 quart jug at walmart (and yes i bought extra at the first oil change and always check level when i'm done) and i bought a case of Motocraft (FL400S) filters and they were only a couple of bucks each in bulk.
i used my fordpass points to order a couple of cabin filters and a half dozen air filters so i have that covered too.

We've never ever had "service" by a dealer. Always changed my own oil. Not much else needed on the good ones.

Dealer moved for our present Mazdas back in about 2018. Never knew it until we went looking for Ford dealership. Mazda, etc. had moved to where Ford used to be. Shows how much we needed the Mazda dealer with 2 Mazdas. Same for Toyota. Only ever been in for 2 recalls.

You have THAT many miles on yours and/or drive in DUSTY conditions? One should be good for well over 50,000 miles!

If you have sufficient airflow out of vents, then the filter is just fine! (y) I NEVER go by arbitrary mileage or time.

I've had mine almost a year and half now! i did the first oil change at 2500 and stick with a 7500 interval after that. the FL400S fits other cars i own so they wont go to waste.

WHICH version of Mobil 1??? I contacted Mobil 1 technical support not long ago, and they said Ford had not sent them the info for the FORD oil spec for the Maverick hybrid, therefore they could NOT recommend ANY of their oils for it at that time!

I use M1 0w20 for all gas vehicles. Although, I've some leftover 5w30 from use in lawnmowers that I may put in first change for the Kubota RTV 520.

The Tacoma clearly says 5w30 on the oil cap, but 0w20 just was not around in 2005.
