Not for Ecoboosts
Not for EcoboostsYikes! It is supposed to be FULL SYNTHETIC!
I don't necessarily disagree, however the Motorcraft synthetic blend is ILSAC GF-6 rated. That rating pretty much came into existence because of Turbo DI engines and their "unique" issues, i.e. LSPI and soot buildup.I would especially use fully synthetic in any vehicle with a turbo. If you want it to last that is.
I don't care to waste my time looking into Ford's arbitrary oil requirement rating. Willing to bet WSS-M2C961-A1 is Ford's equivalent to ILSAC GF-6. That being said, the synthetic blend of the FORD BRANDED OIL we were discussing does indeed meet FORD'S requirement for the Ecoboost engine in the Maverick. That is not the required FORD rating.
I use Rotella T-4 in my KLR. Meets the specs and doesn't burn much in my tired thumperMy Harley 500 says to use a diesel rated oil! 🤪
