I ordered one to be aware of when hybrid engine is running and at what RPM.

If you don't use the car for more than a week, you need to disconnect the HUD from the car, otherwise it will waste electricity.

Help out me, and others who may be clueless. Why would you need to know this information? I’ve never been aware of, or cared what rpm my engine is running at.

I'll go out on a limb here, and just say that tachometers were invented, and are used (by some), for a reason.

I can see if you’re driving a race car. Other than that, that I think tachometers in personal vehicles are just there for people who want to think they’re driving a race car. 😎

I understand and respect that this is your opinion. For others, myself included, using a tachometer isn't just to avoid engine over-speed. I can significantly increase fuel consumption by finding the most efficient rpm range, and adjusting my driving to stay within that range. Beyond that, the OBDII devices offer much more information than simply engine speed. they differ, but mine shows water and oil temperature, oil pressure, altitude, latitude, longitude, inclination, declination, speed, arrival time, various alarms, and several other indications which I appreciate, but are not important to my dad or my wife, and respectfully, may or may not be important to you. I hope that helps.

Can I assume by this conversation the hybrid doesn't have a tach like the EB does?

Funny…I read this and had to go out to my truck to see if it had a tach. It does, but I’ve never paid any attention to it.

You didn't need to go to it. If you have and EB, you know you do. If not, you don't.

No...I did have to go look. I haven't memorized every feature and option available on all the different Maverick models
