Finally a small truck for us short guys again lol. Hey guys, I had basically given up on buying a truck again basically because they all sit too high for me to get in and out of even using steps. I’m on the shorter side at 5’4” but also have a disability that makes getting in and out of most trucks too difficult to do on daily basis. Also I take my elderly mom to, well, everywhere lol and I think she could get in and out of this just fine too.

Which trucks have you owned previously @BigB?
I’ve owned 2, both Chevys. My first ride was a 84 S10 extended cab, 2wd V6. Later on I had a 94 Chevy 1500 regular cab,2wd, stepside bed and a 350 V8. I had a lot of fun in both lol.
It’s been a while since I’ve owned a truck. I met a woman with kids and ended up trading for an Explorer then a sedan. Well I’m single again and want another truck that meets the I stated earlier. The Maverick looks like a good fit.
Welcome @BigB!

What do you think about the Maverick prototypes with all that can be seen in the spy shots?
Anything on your wish list for it?

Thanks fordfan. I really like what I see with the prototypes as it actually looks like a truck. It looks like it’s going to be a good size and not too tall which would make it easy to get in and out of and fit in my garage. In a perfect world I would like a 2wd (fwd) with the 2 liter as option, extended cab and longer bed, steering wheel mounted audio controls, combined mpgs in the mid 20’s at least and the aftermarket to embrace it unlike the bastard child 2015 Kia Soul I currently drive lol. How about you?

It sure seems like a proper small pickup, almost like what the Ranger was a couple decades ago!

Have you seen the Hyundai Santa Cruz? It's another great option in this segment but one that's more on the sporty side.

That’s what I’m hoping for because those were great size trucks. The Santa Cruz is interesting but I think it’s overpriced and the bed is too small and the bedsides are too high. It is sporty though.
