Ford recently trademarked the name "OTX" for "Motor vehicles, namely, automobiles, pick-up trucks, electric vehicles, sport utility vehicles, off-road vehicles, and their structural parts."

It could be for an upcoming trim. 'X' is often used throughout the automotive industry for AWD models but it's unclear if that will be the case here. It doesn't fit into Fords current naming scheme, however with a lot of changes underway for the automaker the possibility stands.

What do you think the OTX name is for?

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this was that it could be something related to Over The Air Updates (OTAs). But I don't know what the X would mean in this case. Maybe they're going to give a brand name for their updates? Or this is going to be something off-road specific?

I'm leaning more towards it being trim related, going off of my initial finding.

It comes close to STX and that stood for ''Sports Truck Extra" and could bring us close to figuring this out. But I wonder what the 'O' in OTX means.
