Yeah, I just don't get it. VW made the same mistake, repeatedly, when they had the lackadaisical approach to the new microbus versions. They are on the 5th prototype in 20 years. Any one of them could have been a hit, but instead they milquetoast their marketing and ta-da! Nobody is interested. I fear the same thing here with the Maverick. Ford fails to build excitement, then nobody gets excited, then they say, "gee whiz, we'd like to build a small truck, but golly, nobody seems interested". It's a bunch of bull. They should know better. The big three have for decades basically engineered demand for huge trucks. Hardly anybody actually needs them that big, but they created a culture that made people think they absolutely need a monster truck. Same with the new Ranger. Flipping huge, nothing like the old Ranger. People have been shouting for small pickups for a quarter of a century and they keep providing behemoths. Here, with the Mav, they have a truck that looks to be very useful for the average person. It's not uber-masculine, not 10 feet tall, etc., but actually could be useful. They are just going to f it up, I know it.
/end rant.
