I noticed that too. But also remember these are preproduction models, so maybe that's what we get and maybe not. Doesn't really matter to me.

Funky 2 piece rear rubber floor mats
Watched videos of maverick interior. If you look close the rear rubber floor mat are in two pieces. The left floor mat covers the floor and up and over the hump. The the right floor mat fits in and partially covers the hump piece.m

My wife's 2016 highlander does the same. I suspect that's what most are doing.
That's why I'm buying aftermarket floormats. Husky or weather tech make very accurate fitting mats for about the same price as oem
