One list "heavy duty" options, the other lists "higher capacity" options. Which is it if you add both options? And if it's the same, am I getting billed twice? Wonder if ford will address this and/or update pricing on website. Because if it's the same thing, dealers are going to double bill anyway and play ignorant.

I'm intrigued, what lists are you referencing?

If you go to build and price under fx4 and 4k packages, there is a little icon that you can click on for more info. It lists on there what the packages come with. If you don't see those options, you may need to select ecoboost engine and awd first.
Ah ok I see what you mean, they are being tricky in their language use.

My suspicion is that it's going to be very hard to answer that question definitively until we can get to the point of actually being able to compare part numbers, and that's going to be awhile. My (sort of) educated guess is that the FX4 will get the same radiator that the 2.0l FWD gets. We do know from the prelim. 2022 Towing Guide that 4K towing gets you a bonafide transmission oil cooler (like the 2021 Escape with 2.0l or high trim Hybrid gets - and the Escape is the only 2021 Ford vehicle that you can get with a factory aux. trans cooler), "higher capacity" radiator (probably higher than whatever the Hybrid and 2.0l FWD comes with), and "upgraded" cooling fan (probably unlike what you get with Hybrid and 2.0l FWD).

Ford does make it very confusing. When you look from one year to the next you can find lots of changes. Go here (2021 Ford RV & Trailer Towing Guide ) and see what the TOWING EQUIPMENT & TRAILER TOWING PACKAGES chart says. For 2021 no mention at all of any vehicle with an "upgraded" cooling fan, and only vehicle with "upgraded" radiator is the Expedition.

Then go here (Ford_Linc_18RVTTowGuide.pdf ) to the same chart and see how different it is regards what gets "upgraded" radiators and fans and what doesn't. Lots of footnotes.

If Ford ends up considering the Maverick as a "truck" for documentation purposes (which I doubt), later on you might be able to go here (Publications | Body Builder Advisory Service (fordbbas.com) ), Vehicle Specifications, and find the 2022 Maverick. Then you might see actual radiator specs like they do for their other trucks.

Well it appears I could have been wrong in my above statement - if you compare the exact wording description for FX4 and 4K Tow in Ford's prelim. Maverick Order Guide, they describe the radiator and cooling fan the same way. This is what it says for XLT (and there's the same wording for Lariat):

When trucklet hammered her dealer on a spare tire included in her build, and asked if she was intitled to two spare tires, I responded to the redundency in the off road package and the tow package with upgraded radiator and cooling fans saying jokingly maybe they would put the extra radiator and cooling fans in the bed. Lol This is an oversight on Ford's part. How do you charge people twice for the same upgrade

Won't know for certain until the update the parts catalogues. As it is even right now, we've no listing for the full-sized Bronco and we've already had a couple delivered/ and at least one sold.

Charts show the FX4 package doesn't have transmission cooler or 7 pin connector though, or upgraded gears.
