I was just cruisin the net today at lunch and I saw rumors that the Santa Cruz is going to be priced at 34,000 dollars, base..... If that is the case. The Maverick has nothing to worry about.

I do believe Maverick will be the stronger contender in this competition. While I do like the Station wagon becomes pickup truck styling, I do believe the market will support Maverick since it has more truck like styling. Subaru tried it with Baja but it didn't do especially well. It will be interesting to see how it plays for Hyundai. I did see that production has already started on Santa Fe so they will have a strong jump on the market. Maverick production isn't supposed to start until August but maybe this will motivate Ford to push harder.

I think the chip shortage is hurting Ford more than most auto companies. I think that is one of the main reasons why production is not starting till August. Still, I bet Ford will deliver more by years and then the Hyundai
