Hi new here I’m really interested into getting a Ford maverick as soon as possible. But I’ve called like 10 local dealerships here in Florida and they said the only thing I can do for now is the online reservation, but I see plenty of people getting build dates and order confirmations? How is that, is it only certain dealerships in the country allowing you do buy one? I want to put some money down on one!

Speak to your dealer to put in a retail order. Check the constraints list in the news section of the forum to improve your odds. After your order is placed, ford needs to confirm it. After it is confirmed , just hope the scheduler picks your order. (It depends on what they are looking to build for the week, how many orders are placed at your dealer, stellar constellation alignment, etc)

Its not hard. Go to your dealer, tell them you want to place an order. Don't select a tonneau cover, bed mat, fender film, spray-in bed liner as options.(as of 8/30, see link). Selecting a 2.0 Ecoboost probably will have better odds than hybrid. At that point, you are just going to have to wait until selected, like everyone else.

I would have thought it was strange as well or confusing but after having reserved and owned a new Tesla model in the past this is by far a breeze especially since there’s actually communication and builds are actually happening. You just have to ride the wave and be patient or wait a few weeks, get lucky, and find a dealer inventory one available but be ready for markups as they will be in short supply.

All you have to do is Google FORD MAVERICK, go to the official ford site, click "build and price", and build the vehicle you want. You select the dealer you want to use, and they will contact you... either immediately or within a day. You can even send a build to several dealers and go with the one that is quickest or you get the best vibe from. From there, the dealer will have some paperwork for you to do over the computer, and you make a deposit. In my case, $500. I believe some are $1K. Anyway, you then have a verified order. You wait a few weeks, and you get an email saying your vehicle has been scheduled, with a build week, and a VIN.

When did you order, and do you have a scheduled production date? If not, I would contact the dealer to confirm all is well.
Order was placed in late August. We don't need the vehicle until February. It's a hybrix XLT. I went through this same process with a 2020 Transit so I am not panicked.

scheduling your build involves several factors out of your control, I dont understand people saying they have a priority number under 19, priority numbering starts with a allocation system dependent on other factors..
in most cases 19 is the best and 100 is the lowest. factors include
hard or soft sale, are you interested or definatly buying...
dealer sales, small dealers or dealerships that dont sell that many cars a month get higher priority ratings so pick your dealer wisely.
some dealers require you to put a deposit down, this does not speed up your scheduling, its stupid and greed on the dealers part... if you cancel your order the dealer will still except your order and sell it to somebody else, so why take money ahead of time when your not locked in anyway... go figure..
in the month of september the plant built bout 2000 mavericks, well under the capability of the plant due to whats called RAMP UP SCHEDULE.. the plant WILL NOT reach max production levels for months to come so patience is appreciated.

These are just some factors you have to be aware of instead of hear say by non automotive working people. I have 35 years at ford motor company actually building and shipping vehicles.. I wish all you a speedy delivery and it aint a harry potter world where you wave a wand and poof yours is ready..lol
typical hold ups that may get yours built before others..

PAINT CHOICE
ADDED EXTRAS AND EXTRAS THAT REQUIRE SHIPPING TO THE BUILD PLANT
OUTSIDE VENDOR PARTS- NO WORK OR SLOW DOWNS MEANS NO PARTS FOR YOUR ORDER THUS RE-SCHEDULED.
IN HOUSE DAMAGES- DIE CHANGES OR MODIIFICATIONS, SPLITS IN METAL, RE-TOOLING. ( THIS HAPPENS VERY FREQUENTLY WITH NEW BUILDS AND RAMP UP. QUALITY IS NUMBER1 SO THE LINES WILL BE SHUTDOWN TILL RESOLVED.
SHORTAGES OF CONSUMABLES- THIS IS ITEMS USED TO MANUFACTURE YOUR MAVERICK, LIKE ROBOT TIPS TO WELD METAL, SEALER AND ADHESIVES USED IN THE BUILD, GLASS, ETC.......

SORRY TO SOUND LIKE A SPOILER BUT , as you see the manufacturing of your vehicle is held up by a variety of things, if the launch and ramp up goes smoothly the vehicles role out smoothly and in large quantities...

Is there an ongoing thread of who has gotten a “deal” or price reduction and from which dealer(s)
well if your a Aplan buyer there is no dealing or price reductions, ford sent out a memo to all dealers telling them that all pre-ordered vehicle orders will be met first before any dealer is allowed to purchase and sell there own mavericks. Now I wouldnt expect any deals or savings from any dealer, however they can obtain and sell vehicles as there own by excepting a order and saying the pre order got backed out of once it was delivered..

There are already several notable incidences of folks getting a few hundred off at order, and a couple incidents with price gouging
so I guess YMMV
