Ordered a Hybrid and dealer texted me today and said the engine is backordered, can anyone confirm? Also if I change to a 2.0. Will that push my order back . Ron

The hybrid is not technically "backordered," but Ford has said that they will only be 30-40% of production in the foreseeable future. So that, paired with the fact that about 2/3rds of reservations have been for the hybrid, indicates that there will be longer delays in getting hybrids scheduled for production. There also won't be hybrids delivered as dealer stock units until the retail units have been produced. So I guess units on the lot could be considered "backordered."

Thanks for update, wonder if I should go with the 2.0. Kinda wonder how another member orders after me and gets a build date. But he’s going with a 2.0

It’s all crazy, some posted about hybrid issues so I may suck up the difference and go with a 2.0 that way I may get for a Christmas gift. Be nice if Ford would give some updates.

I am still looking for these hybrid issues. The complaints I’ve seen on the “hybrids” should have been under the regular models. I was seeing complaints on shifting gears but CVTs don’t shift. Haha. I've read many happy owners still driving on the OE battery 13 years old, and taxi drivers going 300k plus with minimal work done.

Ordered XL Oxford white with copilot 360 on 8/2 got build date on 10/4. Orders seems to be held back if you have spray in bed linear and other add ons being in limited supply

Maybe just order what you want, and wait for it like everyone else? I got an e-mail from my dealer today stating my XLT Hybrid with 360 and lux package is scheduled for 10/11 build date. I was willing to wait, since I ordered 7/31, but got lucky. Order what you want instead of having to change your order every time you hear of delays on certain items? I don't understand why everyone is in a huff about delays considering this is the first truck of it's time;. Be patient.

Not to defend Ford but this site is specifically for complaints so it is anecdotal at best. They are entertaining so I will give you that.
I could find the same thing for any company. Reviews in general are just garbage. My 2011 Prius in 2014 was rated #1 in reliability for hybrids. Now it’s on consumer complaints as “avoid like the plague”. The Chevy Volt was ranked as the best none luxury EV, now everyone of them is recalled because it can potentially burn to the ground.
