I think we all can agree that Hyundai is trying too hard to promote the Santa Cruz.
Promote all they want. Without a hybrid model there’s no comparison.
And it's refundable. You didn’t give Ford a $1000 deposit, they did not require one to order, you gave Blah Blah Blah dealership one and didn’t need to.
So, get your $1,000 back and move on, Knowing what you know now -If I knew then what I know now I'd not have given Ford $1,000 down on a maverick. At this point a auto maker who values quality will soon follow with a hybrid AWD truck that has quality, and that will be Fords legacy.
The Maverick is built in Mexico by Mexican workers using mostly Mexican parts which benefits the Mexican economy. 26% of its parts come from the US and Canada. The 2.0L EB engine is made in Spain.Buy American...buy Maverick!
meh. nice try.

the argument you make helps the people who ordered in June how? Its NOT the dealer choosing which vehicles are built first, but Ford says "dealer allocations". If Ford refuses to cover warranty items (say hot cats from bad programing) or drags their feet they can say "dealer fault". If its YOUR car that burns/is broke does it matter?
I chose to see them as one cause they act as one to screw people over. Not sure how a moral person could see it different. I've come to believe some people on here probably work for Ford (dealers included!!!).
As far as the person who owns 8, well, I doubt the people you pay to drive will complain about the seats going bad quick. But they sure might want some compensation if they drive them home and it burns the house down, I hope your up for paying.
Good luck with your santa cruz. Hyudai has such a Stellar reputation.....ROFLMAOthe argument you make helps the people who ordered in June how? The thing is vehicles have gotten SO complicated. You, I, your average guy cannot work on them anymore. I will not. First is, people must understand that new vehicles ARE dependent on MAINTENANCE! Do not drive your vehicle beyond required maintenance intervals. Your vehicle will last longer. Keep it clean, and protected as much as possible. Every car company has vehicle problems, some more than others. With Forums like these, the word gets out if there is real STINKER vehicle, and how the manufacturer replies. That is why I joined here. Good luck to all. There are over 4K members here and I would guess quite a few Mavericks in circulation so far. Vehicle problems have a tendency to show up on forums long before anywhere else. Manufacturers often have good models, troublesome ones and junk. Ford has been a prime example of this. Plan on buying a Maverick sometime in the near future and this forum among others will have a big impact on if I buy one. Also have a good friend who is a Ford tech that I can count on for advice. The Maverick appears to be relatively trouble free so far. Promising!
I reserved a Santa Cruz the same day I did a Maverick. The Santa Cruz came in the second week of Dec. It was a SEL AWD, with options. 42K. Sorry. Nope. The interior was dark and all the glossy plastic trim. Not a good idea with pets! Yeah it probably looked better than the Maverick interior. But i want to take my dogs, and throw stuff into it. The SC would be tore up with in minutes. I alos saw the SC against the Maverick in off road stuff....watched the Honda Ridgeline too die! Watched the Bronco Sport Badlands! It is [email protected]! But the Maverick BEAT both the Ridgeline and the SC. I love my Maverick. I can't wait to take it off road. At first I liked the SC looks. Now Ilike the Maverick looks better, I see why. Truck like. I have had my thirty pond pups in the Truck, they haven't scratched the interior yet! I made the right choice. The whole SC vs Maverick debate shouldn't be confused with Ford vs Hyunida. Both car companies have made great vehicles and cars that are/were absolutely appalling (i.e. Elantra Touring or Ford Freestyle). The argument is does the SC actually beat the Maverick every time? Nope! Just looking at numbers the Santa Cruz loses in Gas Mileage, Base MSRP, Bed Length and Legroom. For me Gas Mileage, MSRP & Bed Length are far more important than pulling 5,000 lbs or having a Hyundai interior.
I’m curious why someone told you to give up the CP360. I got my Mav in January and at the time of ordering (last summer) I had both the tow package and CP360. I’m more than satisfied and my only regret is not getting AWD. (But I kept my 2013 Ridgeline for dump runs, etc.) Thanks for any insight you have.Given that I had two options (tow pintel/CP360) and my Mav is limited to 2,000 pounds towing and quality is for sure well below the Cruz I can't argue with them at all on those points.
Ford told me if I want a Maverick, give up the CP360, which is a big blow to me buying it.
and by now if you think Ford put quality #1, or 2, or 3, you've not paid attention. First part of quality is getting you the car to begin with..which is why the June orders being put back of the bus was idiotic.
I am curious about that also, like you my order had the 4k tow, CP360, but with AWD, Lux package and roll up tonneau and was delivered in February with no prolems with constraint issues. Could it have been dealer allocation issue?I’m curious why someone told you to give up the CP360.
