I think we all can agree that Hyundai is trying too hard to promote the Santa Cruz.

I now own both and both are winners.

Apples and oranges. The SC has a lot more, but I paid nearly 10k more.

What both lack and would be great is a transfer case so you can flat tow the AWD.

Ridgeline is obese, nearly 1,000# more than a Maverick. Hard to perform or be economic lugging all that fat around.

The Ridgeline is absolutely 1,000 # obese. That's a big problem.

Goodness. You seem to be really upset by the weight difference between the Maverick and the Ridgeline. :) Why is that?

And, did you see my post about how close the Ridgeline's performance is to the Maverick's despite the Ridgeline weighing about 700 lbs. (not 1,000 as you stated) more? :)

Santa Cruz really screwed up on their engine design. Think they’re near same EPA values as Ridgeline, which is about 1,000# obese.

No matter how many times you say that, it's still not correct.

The Ridgeline and Santa Cruz weigh more and get lower fuel economy than the Maverick because they have different capabilities. Honda and Hyundai could make trucks as efficient as the Maverick, but that wasn't their goal. Instead, they focused on capabilities and comfort while Ford focused on making a a fuel-efficient and lower-cost version of a truck which isn't a bad thing - it's just how they were designed. Each of these trucks has a place and each is better than the others in individual categories. You can't have a everything in one model.

The Santa Cruz averages 1 MPG better than the Ridgline and is slightly faster in most metrics such as 0-60 and quarter-mile times. How is that "screwed up"?

The Maverick is slightly (1/10th of a second) faster to 60 MPH than the Santa Cruz, but then the Maverick runs out of steam and the Santa Cruz beats it in the quarter-mile.
