Installed tracking system

I am not going to mention my dealers name but here is the story. My dealership was sold to the other ford dealership in town. It gave me apprehension of a smooth sale. The new dealer installed a tracking system and charged me 300 bucks saying they install in on every car they sell. I got an email from the dealer to rate my experience. I said my original saleman was Aces! Then I ripped the dealership for adding an option that I did not order and told them how creepy it was. I also expressed my feelings on a Yelp review. The following morning I received a call from the General Manager. He apologized refunded my money and is having the tracking system removed. I have deleted the Yelp review. They made it right.

PS the tracking system is Waypointgps. It monitors driving style, location and can shut the car off if they choose to(not making a payment I guess) It is sold as a 5 year(life of the loan) theft warranty but most of us know better. Just creepy. If it was not removeable I would have sold the truck. Enough big brother.

So what you are saying is you applied some of your electronic counter measures skills to the problem.

So a $300 loan insurance. You may want to refinance as well.

NOT NEEDED! (to add on). The FordPass APP already has one! I can look at my Mav location from my recliner to see it is still on the map in the driveway.

There is nothing creepy about the added security.

It's creepy when a third party is recording my driving habbits and locations. Added security is the Glock.

Your glock will do you no good if it is miles away when you realize it is missing.

Live data is what is available. No need to know where it
has been, only where it IS (to retrieve).
Maybe sticking my nose where it doesn't belong, but I do believe there is a big difference between a tracking system being installed as well as accessed by the non owner, and an app used by the owner at their command. Yes there are all sorts of ways vehicles can be tracked and information retrieved already without another party doing the same thing for their own purposes. If the above was required as part of a loan application, then it should be stated as such.

Last time. Ford Pass can locate my Maverick. I do not need a third party tracking me and my driving habits.

Ford IS the third party between you and the police.
