I won’t order the Lariat due to the lack of choice in seat colors. I do not like the tan y & blue seat colors so I’m forced to go w/ XLT pkg. Wish the Navy/grey cloth was offered on the Lariat.

My dealership said that Ford is making it simple so it can have a smoother launch (workers learning to build the vechicle without as much variation). There may be more choices down the road.

Agreed, this also helps keep the cost of building low.

its almost like these guys make things up on the fly - offering different seat choice colors would be transparent to manufacturing - other than having to inventory certain numbers of each choice. However, this is no different really than any of the other packages offered. This is called logistics and manufacturing planning.

I agree that the one choice on the Lariat is surprising - given that this is the higher end trim. The simulated leather may or not look feel and smell like high quality. Why not offer an additional choice for real leather - at least for the seating surfaces, as well as different color choices besides the brown (although personally, I like the brown).

maybe I should wait another year …or two…
Yeah probably not a bad idea. It seems like you like the idea of a Maverick but just aren't happy with the available interior options.

Not many photos of the XT fabric tough it is black and dark gray accent fabric (instead of the white in the blue/white XTL fabric). If you want a basic fabric the XT would work. Not blue plastics nor orange accent colors (that I know of). Possible XT fabric will be lower quality then the XTL fabric…just a guess on my part.

Well, if easy to trade out I would bet someone would do that with you. Might look a bit ‘off’ doing that though. Would seem just nuts & bolts though then again with side seat air bags that might create legal issues doing such a trade.

Even if such was possible don’t think, I am guessing, it would blend well having XT seat coloring and how it would ‘blend’ in with XTL interior coloring. Just my two cents.
It is the orange plastics, mostly, that I don’t care for in the XTL trim. The XTL seats themselves are ok.

Realize XT rear bench does not give you fold down center arm rest so that too is a reason not to do XT seats.
If you get the interior re upholstered would it void the warranty?
If you get the interior re upholstered would it void the warranty?
It would only void the factory warranty on the seat covering or whatever was re-upholstered. Nothing else.
If you had a seat frame failure or something like that it could void the warranty on the frame, but only if it could be proven that the modifications to the cover (improper installation, etc) caused the failure.

EDIT: Just wanted to add for clarity. If, for example, the aftermarket seat upholstery/installation caused the factory seat heaters to overheat and short out, subsequently causing damage to related electrical components or fire or anything else which may be related to the modification, then that damage is not covered by the warranty. This same line of thinking can be applied to any modification. But it will not blanket bomb your entire warranty.

They are building a nice truck for under $30K. Thats cheaper than a used Corolla right now! I guess everyone wants a 60K truck ofr 30 K, and they want it yesterday, with the exact specc they want.

Its a 25000 dollar new truck, If you don't like the seats - fine - move on - because they already have thousands of people in line waiting for the truck you don't want!
