Hi I had a quick question I've been seeing on here where folks have been able to already enter an order or sales contract I've been working with two dealerships in arkansas in my general area I've been able to place a reservation via the website but the dealerships aren't too interested contacting me or anything so I was curious what I need to do am I still going to be able to order? I don't want to end up having to settle I reserved a XLT AWD with 4k Tow, FX4 and Co Pilot. Last question I had if anyone had any insight is there anything else I should add or ask of the dealership when I do get to order? I have never ordered a vehicle ahead of time so this is all new to me.

I have been having a similar issue. Apparently, my reservation triggered an email to be sent to the dealership as intended, as well as to myself. But my Ford.com account doesn't show it, and neither of us have a reservation number. right before she left for the day, she suggested I call Ford to get it. But after reading a thorough post on how to do all this, I think everything worked exactly as Ford intended. It put myself and the dealership in touch with one another. So I will be heading down there tomorrow, so long as the CRM I have been working with is in, and get an actual order put in.

One thing to ask for sure, as I've seen it pop up in several places, you need to ask whether or not they will charge more than MSRP. If you look in these forums, there is a post by a rep from Chapman Ford in Philly that several people have confirmed will bring it in at 3% under MSRP. I'm close enough for that to be doable, if I don't like the answer to my MSRP question tomorrow. But I'll check other local dealerships before I commit to an interstate drive.

I have a question you can ask . Can you pre order a leased vehicle instead of buying it ?
Unless somebody else can confirm that, my advice would be to call the dealership tomorrow.

A reservation creates a 'hot lead' for the dealership to follow up on; there's nothing really binding about it. I ended up ordering through a different dealership than I initially reserved through because they weren't sure if they were accepting orders yet. The salesman did mention having to transfer the reservation but I think that's just for tracking on their/Ford's end.

Once you and the sales staff have the build they'll price it in their system and give you the MSRP. Depending on your locality you may have sales tax and for the state issued title, but also ask what additional fees the dealership may charge like administration/documentation. You can try negotiating with them on the price for the truck below MSRP to varying success. There's also dealer invoice which is what Ford prices the vehicle to the dealership "on paper" although they actually pay less. Which is why Chapman is able to offer 3% below invoice although the $394 doc fee eats into that discount some. Fordauthority.com has a publicly available price sheet that shows dealer invoice costs that are close to accurate.

There's also the Ford A, X, and Z-plan that give discounted pricing for corporate partners and employees and their friends/family. Another way to get X-plan is by owning 100 shares of Ford so depending on what the discount is and the cost of the vehicle it might be worth buying the $1500 in Ford stock. Edit: Mustang Club of America membership is a quite cheap way to get X-plan access.

Financing and trade-in (if applicable) shouldn't really matter until you take delivery of the vehicle. So right now you should only care about the build price you settle on with them and I'd recommend get it in writing. Ford may also offer further incentives at delivery time that you may be eligible for.

After the build is in you get a confirmation e-mail from Ford although there's no unique order number and they don't appear to be showing on Ford.com just yet.

I've managed to get the reservation and the email/contact from the dealership the issue I've been running into mainly is when I ask about actually placing an order they just say they don't know when it will be possible to place one and then I don't hear anything else both I have dealt with havent bothered to contact me since I placed the reservation on the 8th which I find very odd most time sales reps are interested in trying to make a sale. Instead it almost like pulling teeth to get them to do anything.

Honestly the dealership is likely more interested in selling you what they have on the lot right now (particularly with high prices at the moment) than 4-5 months down the road so they aren't necessarily going to be in a hurry to facilitate the process. Dealers have been able to place orders on these since last week so if they haven't figured out how to that's entirely on them. I took it as a sign in how interested they were in doing business with me as a customer and contacted multiple to see who'd get back to me actually ready to process things. Also if you're communicating via e-mail, Facebook, or text there's a good chance it's getting processed by an automated system.

Yeah I've done the same as far as shopping around dealerships issue I run into is they get far away fast in rural Arkansas as far as the sales im dealing with one I haven't ever delt with before but the other I've actually ordered 3 mustangs from over the years so I was shocked that he wasn't much help and doesn't act like there's any incentive to try and get it done guess I'll just keep asking dealers till I get one to bite.

The endless phone/email thing was useless. Walked into the dealership and got it done in 15 minutes. Now I just have to wait.

My reservation email to the dealer was all messed up. Said I wanted to reserve a Ford transit. Either way, once I figured out they were actually doing orders, I just went to the dealer and told them I wanted to order it. I didn’t wait for them. I used a really small dealership though.

Yeah it seems like the system is kind of overwhelmed. I don't want to touch my savings, so I will go down next week when I get paid, to put down a deposit and get my order in.

I also did the reservation step and got that notice but I havent gotten an order confirmation. Dealer said they are waiting for Ford to release the start of production. Should I mention others have had to come in to confirm their orders?

Spoke to my local dealership before doing anything. Was advised to go to the Ford website and built my Maverick. Did this on June 10th. Dealer contacted me next day. On June 12th got email with attachment from dealership. This was a printed out build order, had all my specs, an order code, priority code and sales code on it. Was ask to confirm the build, sign it and provide deposit. Emailed it back on June 5th and my salesman called me same day for the deposit.
Was told this will be the order going into the order bank.
Salesman said he will let me know the vin number and an estimated build date once it was been generated.
Our family has already purchased an EcoSport and Ranger this year from same dealership and same salesman. Haven't received an official email from Ford confirming but have all the confidence in this dealership that they have taken care of this on their end.
I'm just planning end of year before the Maverick will be ready. Anything sooner will be a bonus.

I had a similar problem. I made a reservation on 6/10 21 I specked out my build and told the dealer to build my Maverick. Just recently joined this website I learned a lot. When I read about members on this site already had vin numbers I decided to revisit the dealer. Yesterday they put in the order to build it. I was able to get the X plan, I really hope I have not lost my spot in line with the original reservation. I ordered the Velocity Blue Lariat with only 4 options on the hybrid model, Moonroof, 360 package, protective film on front end and fenders, and trailer hitch. I refuse to pay 3 grand just to get a better radio with Sirius. You would think that would be standard on Lariat. By the way the reviews on youtube are not to crazy about the upgrade sound system either.

Call long Mc author Ford in Salina Kansas they have free shipping as long as you finance with them. I’d imagine if you were paying cash you could pay the loan off after you get it.
