It means Scheduling next week for production next month. According to this, there will be three weeks of production next month. So next week they will schedule what trucks will be built those weeks. So, just as example, one week might be area 51 blue XLT hybrid and another week might be all wheel drive limiteds. They will schedule based upon the orders and the materials they have on hand. It isn't like they will just build truck #1, truck #2 and so on. They will schedule them in a way to maximize resources and efficiency. So this week there should be some news of when some will be manufactured, at last the plan. When the point comes that the production week of your truck is decided you should get an email update.

Hopefully the Maverick doesn't face some of the same production issues related to the continuing chip shortage which has been plaguing the auto industry. If all goes well, and recent observation with the Bronco and Bronco Sport have been accurate for timing; once they send out a Maverick to the dealerships for training the sales staff, it should be a couple weeks to just over a month before they start hitting the lots for deliveries.

I surely hope they learned from the Bronco and don't have a repeat of that fiasco. I don't think any of us are really holding our breaths, but it would be nice to see our builds start getting scheduled and assigned vins. We shall see!

We can hope that somewhere in development they designed it to be less dependent on them. I know of a few people who had production of their vehicles delayed for months due to this chip issue. Each time they received updates on production, it was to inform them they were being backed up again weeks or months. Fortunately both have had their vehicles produced and delivered now.

I'm pretty sure they took the chip shortage into account and made some last minute changes to account for it. For example, only SYNC 3 is available in the Maverick, even though Ford has been on the 4th generation for a couple of years now. The 8" display was clearly intended to be a 12" display, but they figured people would rather have a smaller display and a goofy little cubby than to have to wait an extra year. (They're right.)

I was really hoping that by ordering a fairly basic fwd XL with Tow Package that the parts would be available. I figured that the Co-Pilot360 and the moonroof and power mirrors and cruise control and all of that other fancy stuff would require more microchips. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. But my build is delayed because of the A/T tires, of all things.

I appreciate build quality far more than ‘ how soon will my Maverick arrive at the dealer!’ I have a great car already so I’m in no hurry.

I imagine in a year or two that screen may change on some models as the chip shortage becomes a thing of the past. Perhaps it will be a standard feature on models above the XL or XLT, like on the Lariat or any other new version, optional package which might be added.

They did the first week of August production this week, but I believe will be scheduling two more weeks in August as well.

According to this schedule all three weeks of August production were supposed to be scheduled this past week, but I’ve only seen one week confirmation in my reading.

So if the 7/12/21 schedule claims production starts 8/16/21 and the 7/19/21 schedule claims 9/6/21...
Can we assume 7/26/21 schedule pushes it back another 3 weeks to to 9/27/21?
