It's interesting that he strongly poo poos the atkinson hybrid engine.

Most of the chatter I've read on various forums talks about how 'simple' the ECVT and 2.5 atkinson are... but his opinion strongly diverges from that chatter.

I don't know who is right and who is wrong, but I found that interesting.

I did consider the possibility he is just a fuddy duddy boomer with outdated opinions that hadn't kept up with the times.

I'm not educated on this subject enough to have a solid opinion one way or the other.

I do wonder how many mechanics are familiar with an ECVT Hybrid drive train, though.

Who knows though, in 5, 10, 20, 50 years the opposite might be true. You'll need to find a true specialist to work on an I.C.E.

The 2.5 Atkinson in our Accord was top notch.

Scotty fails to mention that a turbo has a life expectancy of 100-125k, although the turbo in my 17 Fusion is nearing 175k, most of it highway miles.

Normally I don't watch his videos . Not a fan of how he does it. With that said I watched this and aside of his wide open manner I AGREE 100 percent with the main message and is why I have a xl 2.0 ecoboost. Hopefully it will serve me well. My last buy.
