several questions - full spare and acoustic windshield

I see that the full spare is a $115 option, but it is a space saver spare included as standard equipment on any of the trim levels? Also, where will either spare configuration be mounted?

what is an acoustic windshield, and how is this any different than a regular windshield?

Thx

Space saver spare is the default if you don't get the $115 option. Both the full size and space saver are mounted under the bed like most other pickups.

Acoustic windshields have a layer of sound deadening material embedded in the glass. It's pretty cool tech in most luxury cars that makes a noticeable difference in road noise. It's not a compelling reason alone to step up to a Lariat, but it really helps round out that package as a luxury option for the Maverick.

That is good info. So the spare mounted under the bed will therefore not take up any space within the bed. Thanks

Yup. Hyundai decided to put a trunk there, Ford went with the space saver tire / full size spare combo. I like the different approaches they took to build the same class of vehicle

Has a heavier inner-lay than a regular windshield. Supposed to be quieter

Hybrid should default w/ a fullsize spare.

Yup, and although the laminate is thicker, the glass itself is supposed to be lighter. More plastic, less glass, but same thickness so track and everything is the same between options.

I kind of wonder if its going to be a wash though, as you'd think a solid rear glass of the XT/XLT would be quieter than the power ported rear glass in the Lariat.

I believe only the Titanium trim of the Escape gets the acoustic glass, anyone driven one back to back w/ a lower trim?

I thought the full size spare tire does not come standard with the hybrid, contrary to the 360 package statement. I could be wrong though, hard to remember what is right and wrong after watching all the videos.

If the front acoustic windshield proves to be quieter, I am hoping we can upgrade on the XL/XLT. Arizona dirt road driving gets you a broken windshield from time to time.
Which Maverick trim has the most comfortable and quiet drive?.
