Is anyone else struggling with color selection? Usually I prefer white, but it clashes with all of the charcoal cladding. Area 51 sometimes has a baby blue vibe...Cactus gray sometimes looks minty green...
The other thing to consider is how the exterior color will work with the blue panels in the XLT interior and the orange trim. I prefer grey/black interior surfaces but I'm not willing to give up cruise control and alloy wheels with the XL option.
I used to only own black vehicles but they really show dust/dirt and are extremely hot here in the dirty south.
Am I the only one who is having difficulty????

Yeah, I agree it is very difficult to pick color especially if it is not used in another model for comparison. I took a leap and went with Hot Pepper Red. Like my navigation system I want it to make a statement that I have arrived. Lol

I usually like white as well but on a small, somewhat plain truck like this, it kinda screams fleet truck. I agree with your thoughts on Area 51 and Cactus Grey. Everyone seems to be screaming Area 51 but I am not a fan at all. I have a Carbonized Grey Metallic Ranger and have truly come to enjoy the color. It is dark but not very dark. I find it to be lighter than most other charcoal-ish vehicles. Personally, I think it hides dirt better than any other color. I ordered my Mav in CGM for these reasons and also because I think it will blend in with the charcoal cladding better than any other color.

I’ve changed my mind quite a few times and since I haven’t ordered one I will probably change it a few more times lol. I really like the Cyber Orange because it looks more yellow and I like that but I like the XL interior better and a XL hybrid is really all I need and want. I will probably go with Silver, gray or white even if they aren’t flashy and there’s millions of them out there. I will also be changing the rims so the work/fleet truck look would be temporary.

I am still holding out for the vibrant green - but will likely go either with the area 51 or cyber orange (yellow) if the green is not in the mix.

I saw a chevy - either an avalanche or silverado on the road with the bright green - looked awesome; similar green to what the challenger has recently had.

why doesn't Ford offer the rapid red as an option to all trim levels?
I think we all know the answer to this. They want your money. If the features of the First Edition Lariat don't persuade you, maybe the color palette will. When you go to the Build & Price Tool and select Lariat and then select Rapid Red, a little popup comes up alerting you that doing so will raise the price by $5,870.

Not only is it more money for Ford, but it gives you obvious bragging rights. When you see a Rapid Red Maverick, you will know that that person dropped over 30k for a truck that starts at 20k.

every vehicle made comes with a base model , various trim levels, and sets of options - all of which would drive up the price. although, there may be some who go for the $6k additional 1st edition solely for the rapid red, it is hard to believe that many would do so (not me).

the problem with this maverick, is that both the interior color (and material) choices are very limited - as are the exterior. You have a cyber orange that really should be called cyber yellow, you have a hot pepper red - which really should be called a carrot red, you have an area 51 - which is kind of cool, but definitely has a baby blue look to it, you have a cactus grey, which some members seem to really like, which has an oddly greenish cast to it, depending on the lighting & angle.

for a $30k investment, the buyer wants a color they really like. so far, I don't see it (other than the rapid red).

I thought I might like the XL interior better too until I realized that other than the seats, it actually has more blue than the XLT.

I'm in the same boat as everyone else - I wanted Pepper Red or Alto Blue until I showed to the wife - her answer "No Red or Blue", so she picked Carbonized Gray and guess what I ordered! Happy Wife, Happy Life!!!
If you don't mind my asking, whose truck is it? My wife has gotten the new car every time we've gotten one since we've been married. I always get her hand-me-down car that we had picked based on her needs and wants. This time she told me flat out that I need to get what I want and that I like. So I get to pick everything about it, within what we can afford to spend, of course.

Thats exactly my feeling on it, Sadly though, if I went with the luxury package and lariat model, most of what I needed would have to be eliminated and i would have had to get what I consider to be a god awfull interior color. So 3 out of 4 packages is nothing to complain about.

Any way your wife can call my wife on who wears the pants? LOL - The Carb-G was my third choice, so it is still a Win for me - also the Pepper Red and Alto Blue adds to the overall cost and the Carb-G doesn't. I also like how the Carb-G goes with the painted wheels on the XLT. We would have really had a big deal if she would have picked the Area 51 or Cactus Gray - I don't like those colors at all.
