Did you get the 18" bright aluminum wheels?
I almost would rather have 17" wheels to gain more side wall on the tires. IMO more side wall = better ride.
Your opinion?
You are correct. Also, the lower profile sidewalls are more prone to damage from potholes, rocks, etc. This is also true for the damage propensity of a wheel used with a low profile tire. However, the lower profile tire sometimes handles better under intense turning situations (eg on roadways with lots of curves). It is a trade-off situation with each having its own advantages and disadvantages. If you look at replacement tire prices, the 17" tires are generally less expensive than the 18" low profile tires.

Ok I just checked my XLT. My glasses fogged up since its
a bit chilly outside. My Spare is a ATLAS which i have never heard of
before. Googled it and has been around quite a while.
But the size is only a 215/60/R17. If I had to order again I would take
the donut and buy my own Full Size spare. BTW: my XLT has the
Centennials.
Sorry about this post. I thought the original post asked
about the Spare! Old Age.

No worries, we appreciate the input.
It is always nice to hear other people's thoughts.
I'm not expecting my Maverick until late spring so it's nice to at least be able to have these discussions.
