I’m thinking about ordering a 2033 hybrid Maverick in August, hopefully AWD. I want to be able to stand my bikes up in bed. I don’t want back window to be blocked and not crazy about roll up. Suggestions?

By the time your truck arrives in 10 years I’m sure there will be more options.

But seriously, with the requirements you listed you may not have any options. I have the hard roll up cover and love it. Can transport a bike standing up with the tailgate down. Good luck with your search.

I have a questions about the hard rollup. Can you stop the rollup somewhere other than up to the cab, so that, say...half the bed is still covered? Or are the options "covered" and "not covered"? If that makes sense....

No the rollup covers are all open or all closed. you may be able to rig something, but they will not work that way by design. The retractable covers usually have a way to lock them in place anywhere opening, but they are more expensive and take up room in the bed.

The hard rollup cover on the Maverick has a strap to hold it open. The strap can be adjusted to different lengths. The picture below shows it at it's limit, but you can definitely replace the strap with a longer one to suit your needs. Photo #2 shows how the strap is attached to the truck. Easy to replace with a longer strap.

Doesn't it roll towards the cab when braking?

You'll need to wait about 122 months to do that! Are you sure you can't wait that long?

It could even be discontinued by then.

Some Try-Folds can be easily un-Latched and taken off completely if you need the whole bed.

Yes, many tri-folds, including Ford’s, are easily removed.

I got a 40”x48” trailer from Northern Tool pretty cheap.
