Hi all,
Just got word my Lariat is scheduled for production the end of July. I'm going to get two dealer installed options, spray in bed liner and roll up Tonneau cover. I'm trying to decide if I'm going with the hard roll up cover or the soft roll up cover. There's a $1000 difference. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I got the soft cover. Had it installed at the dealership. It looks good, but is not water tight. Easy to roll up and doesn't block rear view. Let us know what you decide and how satisfied you are with your choice.
I purchased an Agricover LoMax trifold for my Maverick aluminum plats with a spray on textured urethane coating , five latching points on each side, so far no problems.

I got the Roll N Lock hard roll up cover. It is a little more expensive than the Ford option but it retracts into a canister inside the bed rather than a roll up that partially blocks the view out of the back window. Water tight, security and appearance were priorities for me.

We just just got our Ford Lariat 2 weeks ago. We had previously bought the hard roll-up from Ford. A neighbor and I installed it in about an hour. When the tailgate is locked, the truck bed is secure, which we like. When it is rolled up, it does obstruct the rear view some, but not objectionable. And so far, we haven't driven with it rolled up very often. It looks great and we like it.

Last I checked, they were not producing for Maverick yet but sure that will change... I've had an Undercover brand lift-up lid on my Tacoma for 10 years and wouldn't have anything else. You can literally walk on it. I put some stainless eye bolts on it for tying down objects that won't fit in the bed. Looks good and works great.
If I were keeping the truck looking like a truck, the A.R.E one piece fiberglass cover would be a great option. I purchased an A.R.E. cap for my XLT that fits flush with the cab, no frills under $2500.

I bought the Bak 4xs tonneau and installed it myself. It wasn’t too difficult. Bought the hard cover because it is more secure if anything will be stored in it (luggage when traveling etc). Also the side rails are more secure than velcro sides. It rolls back easy with one hand and has an easy tie down to hold it rolled up if you need to have an open bed

BAK4XS roller up was my choice too and less expensive than that of Fords choice.
Thank you all for the very helpful info on Tonneau covers for my Lariat. I've decided to go with the hard roll up Tonneau. The only thing I haven't decided is to go with Ford's or the BAK4XS.

There are videos out there that says that the Bak4 which I think ford may use(??) has felt that May Perl off over time in hot environments. The Bak4xs has redesigned and has like a rubber coating and I believe the rolled up locking mechanism has been improved too
