Someone confirmed the XL has carpeted floor on one of the other forums. Kind of a bummer for XL to have carpeted floors when it is a bare bones work/play truck. There isn't a vaccuum strong enough to get beach sand, trail dirt etc out of the carpet. So much easier to blow it out with leaf blower at end of day with vinyl floors.

Just have a mat by the vehicle and clean your shoes before you get in. Is that so hard? Here in Kansas the wind blows so hard that with a vinyl floor or weathertec type mats the wind blows dirt in your face. How fun is that?

That actually would be pretty ridiculous wiping my shoes, boots, waders, etc. On a mat everytime I get into it.
XL F 150s come standard with rubber floors. They are real trucks.
I would like to treat my Maverick like a real truck.

Weathertecs are great over rubber floors. Guess I'll just have to throw some weathertecs over the carpet. :cautious:

If the winds blow that hard, roll the windows up:sneaky:

Well living in Florida the sand and our monsoon season makes CARPET a NO for even your house, if you have some wits about you. Water makes you floor stink here. Thatis why I have begged FoMoCo to make all their trucks, SUV's, and off-road vehicles vinyl flooring standard, with drain plugs!!!! Like the Black Diamond Bronco!!!!! Plus.....CARPET stains!

Well, what do you consider a "REAL TRUCK". The Ford Bronco Sport is pertty stout for being a small SUV. EVEN in basic trim. Watch some You Tube vids. I have seen FoMoCo vids of the Maverick in sand. Yet to see real off-road. Have you seen videos of a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk? It's an amazing unibody CAR! SUV. Hell's revenge, and towing it's great. But in the past year it has exploded into a 40k EXPENSIVE vehicle. I have seen bent frames on youtube even on Colorados. So, this is a truck. It has a bed to haul, some stuff. Perfect for what I need. Our 5.0 Coyote F-150 is actually over kill for us. It does pull our boat and 4500 lb winnie with no problems, but it isn't needed for anything else. The maverick ISN'T a F-350.....if that is what you mean.

I just checked out a Bronco at a Ford dealer. They only had a Wildtrak with the Sasquatch package. That is supposed to be the high end off road package, but it also had carpet. Better stick with Badlands if you go off road.

Not to p off anybody>>>> but in the forties through maybe even the ninties, people used their family TRUCKSTER, Station wagon to haul kids, dogs, bikes, cows, garbage, wood, cement, you name it. They also towed HUGE travel trailers! YES they did. Nobody used a "truck" to go on vacation in the family RV to YellyStone. They used their Pontiac Grand Safari, Ford Country Squire, or Chrysler Town and Country to travel in style and comfort. When I was a kid in the early seventies, my neighbors had a 1960 Mercury Colony Park wagon they built their house with! Hauled everything in it and ON it. That car was a ugly rusted out eyesore>>>>but I saw it have new raw doors piled on top it's luggage rack and stuffed full in the back with cement bags to where the wagon was riding on its suspension bumpers! That was 1971. Also in Kansas! I'm a transplanted Jayhawk in Florida. Sorry just ticked at people who keep saying this vehicle "isn't a truck". IT IS! Just not 12K lbs worth. It wasn't designed to haul that much. BUT it is a TRUCK!

Look at the Youtube videos of the Badlands Bronco Sport at Hell's revenge....There is also a young lady in California put her Bronco Sport Big Bend through some amazing off-road trails. I just hope Fords dual clutch AWD and single clutch AWD are BUILT!

I owned a 5sp zx5 Focus, hatchback. Put a trailer hitch on it. Hauled my fishing boats all over the place. Hauled a pop up camper with it on my honeymoon through the upper peninsula. With the seats flipped up, there was pretty much a "bed" in the back that hauled firewood, dead deer, ice shanties, kayak. Was a great car did plenty of work. Had the push button traction control by the e brake. Would call that my 4wd Low button. Turn that baby off and she would rip through the snow. 8'6" rods would lay from the back to the windshield without having to break them down. Just threw a sock over the rod tips so they wouldn't rattle against the windshield. People were always impressed pulling into a boat launch and how tight of a radius I could whip that boat around and drop the boat in the water. If I treated that car like a truck, pretty sure the Maverick will be just fine.
