Was unable to make a deal

Went to Ray Price Ford in PA with the full intention of buying a new Maverick. Sadly the salesman was either new at car dealing or didnt want to make deal that was mutually beneficial. I gave the salesman a full list of what I wanted.
XLT AWD, Hot Pepper Metalic, FX 4, 4k Tow Package, Ford co pilot 360, floor liners with carpeted mats, full spare, moon roof,Tonneau roll up cover. Dealer would not budge over his MSRP of 31,800. Inc the 1495 destination and delivery charge. Wanted 17" Alloy wheels but the dealer screwed that one up and wrote down the unique wheels instead.
Also told me that drop in bed liner and mudflaps were late availability and were not calculated in the price.
THE RECAP, buying a car with no discount, no idea when it will be delivered, with options eliminated due to late availability or salseman screwup for a finance rate yet to be determined.
Needless to say I walked out. Screw Ford and all the hype. I get a better deal at an upcoming auto show with a salesman who wants to make a sale, not some young punk that tells me if you dont buy it, I have 3 other appointments today.

They aren't going to budge off full list at first... In fact you probably lucky they didn't add onto it.. In fact they just added this
ACQUISITION FEES18
+ $645
onto the builds

lol, can I take this back? It’s seems I posted before that second cup of coffee and still feeling butt hurt over the Hyundai dealers addendums, the minute I saw that $645 I jumped only to find out that was the lease deal……me bad lol

That only showed up for me when it defaulted as lease and if you click the info button next to it, it mentions it's for a lease I believe

They updated the website with leasing options that show acquisition ion fees … you have to switch back to financing and it’ll remove it

Question. If I live in Indiana? Do they ship it to me? Do I go to Philly to pick it up? How's it work?
Contact him I know some dealerships are offering free shipping to your house but I don't know if he is doing it, 3% of 25000 is 750 so that's worth a weekend trip to Philly

Good info Ruckie, called Ed in Philly and gave him my build info. Ray Price Dealership sure got pissed off when I told them they did not deserve my money or my business. Lets see what happens next

It takes a little patience when doing a long term vehicle purchase via ordering. There is a lot of time between now and when the vehicles arrive to hammer out the fine details, and a lot can change. Dealerships by in large given the current state of the business aren't in a need to bend over too far. Most people will pay MSRP for these vehicles and will be lucky they aren't the ones walking on lots this fall fighting over the few that might be in stock and paying over sticker to get them first. At least reserving now and ordering gives us the benefit of avoiding all that regardless of whether we save a few hundred bucks or a thousand or not.

Ray Price in Stroudsburg? Do they still have the Mountainhome location?
Definitely call Ed over at Chapman. He just dropped it to 4 percent under invoice

Ray Price has several locations, the one in Mountainhome has closed and is just a repair shop, no longer a dealer. The other location is in Mt Pocono (Ford Dealer) and the one in Stroudsburg is Ray Price Chevrolet.

Came out to 32970. Probably could have done a little better but with all the bullshit I had to endure it was worth the no hassle

That’s a hell of a deal for how wickedly well optioned it is. Damn, I may have to make a trip from Texas, lol.
