Advise me, please. I've never had a truck with a bed cover before (mainly because I've never had a truck before) and I plan on ordering a 2023 XL Hybrid as soon as the order bank opens up. I plan on using the bed mostly as a trunk. I want to be able to open the tailgate by itself, and lock it up, and I want the stuff I put inside to stay dry, and I want the cover to last the life of the truck, and I want to be able to get it out of the way when I have tall or oversized stuff to put in the bed.
With no experience, I don't know if I want hard or soft, folding, rollback, or one-piece. I don't know if I want to order the cover from Ford when I order the Maverick, or if I should go with a third party. I don't want to do the install myself. I'm pretty sure that I will also get the bed extender. I will be parking it outside and Michigan lake-effect snow will be landing on it.

If you don't have other plans for the Ford Pass points spend it on a Ford branded cover. I got the 369 dollar soft rollup minus the 210 dollar pass bucks. My wife does have a hard time getting it to latch into place. You can open and close the tailgate without messing with it. I really like the look of the 500 some dollar canvas soft rollup XP 15 from Truxedo. But it's more money. In reality you'll have plenty of time to decide and other manufacturers will have new models out for it by the time you get you vehicle. How soon do you think you'll get it? My July order took until 3 weeks ago to get.

I paid full price for the trip-fold hardtop and had it installed when I picked up the truck (along with mud flaps). I really like it. I have hauled lots of different size stuffl and it is very accommodating. Easy to use and looks nice.

I am hoping Downey comes out with their SST for a Maverick. Had one on my Jeep Comanche short box for fifteen plus years starting in Washington, then to Missouri, then to Minnesota, then to Indiana. Garaged it at home but when at work out in the weather. It's snaps into tracks on the rails so it can actually slide forward in the rails and it had two snap in bows and a removable back piece over the tailgate top. I could take it and bows and back piece fully off when needed and put it all in with the load I was hauling and then in 10 minutes put it right back on. In that 15 years all I had to do was take it in once and get the outer perimeter restitched. It stayed taut all those years and no snaps failed.

I ordered my hard folding tonneau cover from the Ford Accessories web site. Had the dealer install it (it cost $50 to install it and there was a 10% off sale going on at the time, too).
I live in Rainy Western Washington State. It's been out in the weather the whole time, and no leaks. So far, I love it.

My personal favorite and I will be buying when the falls in my lap is the TruXedo Sentry CT. It's a low profile hard cover that doesn't block the whole rear window in the up position. It has a nylon fabric that I like more then vinyl. Locks with the tailgate and you can pull the whole top off by siding 2 clips. $1050 is what I'm seeing it for so it's not on the cheap end but the stuff I intend to store needs to be dry and safe so a soft top won't do.

I plan to buy the BAK Revolver X4s. Hard roll up so it doesn't obstruct the rear view window. And no velcro.

I think Ford Accessories sells the BAK Revolver X2 with the Ford logo on the bottom when it is rolled up. I have been debating between using my Ford points towards the logo X2 or buying the X4s which has better customer reviews.

Can anyone confirm if the one Ford sells is actually the BAK Revolver X2 or not?

I have a Backflip and it is great if you plan on keeping the truck for a long time then the top is worth it . It folds all the way up so there is never a need to remove it. Also fyi I bought Smartliner floor mats they are just as good as Weathertech and are also USA made but a whole lot cheaper, shop around for both products.😎

I debated this too. Ended up getting the Truxedo X15. I live in MN and it works well even in the Winter. Easy to install. Locks with the tailgate. Low profile. Doesn’t block rear window. Interior stays dry even through the car wash.

I suggest you wait until you have the truck in your garage before buying. I have read where the first generation aftermarket tonneau covers are not waterproof/watertight but future corrections will improve the quality.

I got the soft roll up. I love it. It’s great. No issues with it. Latches securely at the tail. It looks good, it has bed rails so it doesn’t move around. This size of truck it works well for. I am a satisfied owner. I’ve had my maverick since January.

So I just got my Maverick yesterday and now I am deciding on what cover to get. I need one that will keep the inside of bed waterproof. Can anyone please recommend a good cover that they have that does not leak at all ? Thanks in advance for any help.

I got the Kikito Soft Rollup. It has built in cross bars and latches at the tailgate. Thought about a trifold but this way if I need to have it fully opened and driving my back glass is not blocked like with the trim-fold. It came with a 4 out of 5 star rating. I may need to adjust it backward about 1/2 inch to make it seal better at tailgate since when I am spraying the hose against the tailgate while washing it there is some spray inside. I have yet to put on the tailgate seal they supply also.
As said in a previous post, I was hoping Downey would come out with the SST cover since it is snaps all the way around and I could easily completely remove the cover if needed. I had one for 10 years on my Jeep Comanche and loved it!
