This reinforces the reports of people not being able to order the hybrid until next summer. It's such a bummer that all these part shortages are contributing to the order window closing.

Pretty sure this was a known many weeks ago, they closed it for my 2022.
I assumed the "cheap" LX hybrid was about marketing as much as anything. Why would Ford, even in a non Covid world, want to flood the market with lower end (price wise) high fuel mileage cars/trucks? But given the supply issues get enough of these out to make a statement and then come out with a awd hybrid my2023 that Starts at the mid $25,000 range and drop the fwd version (or keep it limited).
Maybe I was wrong to do so but I waited late thinking I could jump on a my2023 version if it came out being awd Hybrid. For me being 2wd will be rough going up some of my trails, or even my driveway in a light snow.

My biggest fear is if the my2023 is very different and parts won't interchange we might be limited on spare used parts for the my2022 Hybrid....

Waiting longer might be a good thing to avoid things that need to be addressed in first year models.

That's terrible and has me wondering how many order holders will get something else instead.

Ford shut down hybrid ordering 11 Nov for the 22MY. Sometime in Spring, MY 23 hybrid ordering will open back up.

ECU's, batteries, controllers, exhaust manifold/intake manifold/alternator (if it has one), ac and heat parts, inside displays, all sorts of things that will probably (might) change in the first year. Who ever said I was concerned with just the hybrid transmission?

IMO. your fears are unfounded. Cars are made to higher quality standards than ever before and every year they get better.

Our hybrid Accord is rated at 48mpg and we get a steady 46.65mpg year-round. After 2 years of ownership, we have had a grand total of $150 in maintenance cost and zero warranty issues.

I guess I couldn't imagine that Ford would reconfigure a new model truck in the 2nd year of production, then stop stocking parts for the first year. Has that ever happened in the history of mass produced motor vehicles?

Same thoughts, I waited until end of August to order mine when I figured the AWD hybrid was more realistically a 2024, so I will make do with the 2.0EB AWD until its comes time to order a Hybrid. With used vehicle prices and pent up demand, the used market will stay strong for the foreseeable future which i feel will lower my depreciation risk of buying the 2022 Maverick.

Heres your answer to that question! I bought a 2002 Ford Thunderbird 1st year model. When the 2003 Thunderbird came out, many changes were made from the 2002. The dashboard, the cylinder heads, (VVT), the fan is hydraulic on 2002, water pump, and most important the FEM and other computer parts are not interchangeable, or can be found for a 2002. Sold the car after a few years of ownership while it was still running. Lost 4K in 3 years. And YES! I have a hybrid Mavrick on order. I don't plan on keeping it for 10 years, I'm 81 years old.

Last I read 75% of reservations were hybrids. How will Ford determine which reservations they cancel? Given they’ve haven’t built on a first reserved basis.

Reservations mean nothing. If you don't have an actual order, you won't get one. The dealership will also have to do their part and submit the proper paperwork too.

Ford has sent me emails stating their situation on my two orders for Mavericks and that constraints on some options and chips being the real issue. They have more orders to fill and not enough capacity to build with all the constraints. These are not normal times for vehicle orders to be filled. I would hope Mr. Farley is making the right decisions for Ford Motor Companys future. As a Ford Shareholder, Profits would help their value increase.
