They need make a public release. At least confirm it’s existence

 

I wonder if the C moniker is internal code for Courier, with understanding that public facing branding as Maverick...

 

We did see leaks of the Maverick in production weeks ago so this makes a lot of sense.


I often notice these codes to be for vehicle type which in this case could be for 'Compact'

 

More than likely prototypes for EPA mileage testing or safety testings.

 

Some new media reports are saying July 2021 is when Maverick production will start.

Apparently Ford has now produced 77 Mavericks so far at the Hermosillo plant.

 

The first batch were for testing and promotions, including the two we saw in the launch videos and photos.

The latest batch might be further testing and for dealer training before these start showing up on lots. Some of these are probably heading to magazine and video car reviewers to get their thoughts to get the PR machine going. Pretty cool to see the production starting to fire up as we inch towards mass production

 

I'm curious if we'll get any reviewers driving the Maverick in the near future or if we'll have to wait until they're nearly delivered like the Bronco. (I suppose it's better than not even knowing what your already-in-production reserved vehicle will cost like the Santa Cruz)

 

I think we'll get early reviews on these. With the Bronco, Ford couldn't even really produce them until recently so reviewers got them pretty close to the first deliveries
