1. Cramped cockpit.
They could have made the whole thing 6" wider but same height and length; then you could put a piece of ply in the bed, too. (yes, I know about the boards and tailgate trick)

2. No 2-door available.
Having a full 6' bed would be GREAT, I seldom have more than one other person riding with me, if ever.

3. G-damn integrated stereo that can't be replaced with aftermarket.
Factory radios SUCK, requiring you to use their outdated software, that requires PAYING to update or alter. Now that vehicle functions are also integrated into factory radios, you can't just replace it without losing some important vehicle features. No, I don't want to replace it with a higher tier MySuk Ford system; the nanny-features and data collection/GPS tracking are the things I want to eliminate.
Try the new slate electric truck. It has everything you want and 6 ft bed . No interior high tech stuff even hand crank windows

You must have a narrow garage door, most are 8' wide minimum. Side by side with my T250 Transit, the Maverick is just a hair narrower, and less than 3' shorter. You'd think they would be wildly different exterior size, but nope.
Personally, to be a practical utility truck, I'd redesign the whole platform. Make it a semi-cabover so it could be shorter in length but have a longer bed. Shorter overall length makes it easier to park and handle, and fit into tight spaces. Basically a Windstar/minivan with a pickup bed. Wide enough bed to have 4' of space between the wheel wells (it wouldn't even be as wide an F150). Built-in external access storage doors on the side of the bed. Also, increase the size of the hybrid battery to at least 10kWh (it currently only has 1.1kWh...), and add PHEV capability so you could charge it.

All these changes kind of ruin the intent of the truck; to cost as little as possible. But, there are people actually buying the upper trim levels for $35-50k+ for some unknown reason, instead of getting a more capable, durable truck for the same price or less.

How about Ford just go ahead and put a PHEV drivetrain in the Transit, they already have all the parts being mfg for the F150 with the same drivetrain.
You MUST have realized the size when you bought it, didn’t you?
